Restore the System
Restoring PC settings to an earlier date might help especially in case your system settings were incorrectly changed.
For Windows 8.1/ 8
- Right-click My Computer; select Properties.
- Click Advanced system settings link.
- This opens up System Properties dialog box. Click System Protection tab- the second last.
- Now you’ll get a list of drives and several buttons. Click System Restore button as we want to restore back system settings and changes.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
For Windows 7/ Vista
- Click Start, point to All Programs | Accessories | System Tools.
- Click System Restore.
Unregister and Reregister DLL File
For Windows 8.1/ 8
- Press Windows Key + X; select Command Prompt (Admin).
- Typical DLL path is C:\Windows\System32.
- Unregister the DLL first:
- regsvr32 -u <DLL Path><File Name>.dll
- regsvr32 <DLL Path><File Name>.dll
- Reboot your machine.
For Windows 7/ Vista
- Open Start, enter “CMD” using your keyboard.
- In the Search Box, right click the keyword and select Run as administrator.
- Refer Steps # 2-4 under Windows 8.1/ 8.
Restore Deleted DLL
The DLL file displayed in the error is probably missing. If you’ve recently moved it to Recycle Bin, restore it back. Make sure you haven’t renamed or moved the DLL file.
Uninstall Recently Installed Program
A newly installed program might have registered incompatible DLLs. Uninstalling recently installed program will fix the problem.
For Windows 8.1/ 8
- Press Windows Key + X, select Programs and Features.
- This loads up programs list.
- Sort the list in date of installation. Click “Installed on” column head to rearrange the items.
- Now uninstall all recently installed programs. (Select program > Uninstall)
