PIXMA E560: Slow Print. Here is How to Speed it Up

PIXMA E560 is an all-in-one printer which prints at an extremely low operating cost. It is a wireless printer that uses the auto duplex technology to do its job, and it is renowned for doing a fine job. What makes it pretty affordable is the price at which the cartridges can be bought as well as the ability to print a very decent 700 to 800 pages per refill.

One of its top features is it’s ability to support mobile and cloud printing, which gives one the luxury to print from social media. Cannon also provides cloud storage services and has named it PIXMA Cloud Link. Since wireless connectivity has done away with the necessity to connect with a USB port for a printing job, users can get unlimited printouts at an ease level never witnessed before. One can also save a lot on the costs incurred on purchasing the paper, due to this machine’s capacity to print on both sides of the paper, which is known as Auto Duplex printing. PIXMA E560 is equipped with the intelligence to turn itself on automatically once a print command is detected over a USB connection, and it turns itself off after a set period of time.

Issues Being Faced

Despite the print quality being pretty exceptional, this device does come with a major flaw that has been well documented across the Internet. Thousands of people have a single complain, and that is, this printer does its job pretty slow. It is definitely one of the best silent printers around and is pretty compact in it’s feel also. However, this main flaw is a cause of huge nuisance. There are reports that the printer stops responding sometimes midway through the job, while the slow printing issue also lingers on. What we are here for is to find you ways to get around these issues that are affecting PIXMA E5560 users. A compilation of all the possible solutions to the issue will be discussed in the following passage.

Solutions to Slow Printing

There are many potentially correct solutions to this issue. The machine could be bogged down by a queue of a large number of pages, leading it to process the printing slowly. This isn’t an ideal scenario, but it can’t be ruled out entirely.

Make sure there is no obstacle between the machine and the access points. Usually, the wireless connection is poor between walls and different rooms. Also, ensure there is no interference caused by any devices that use similar frequency such as microwaves.

Try printing out in draft mode. The quality of print might decrease but many users have suggested that this trick might expedite the entire process. This can be done as follows:

  1. Open up the Control Panel.
  2. Choose View Devices and Printers.
  3. Right-click on the printer and then select Properties.
  4. You might be able to view the Draft tab or the Fast tab.
  5. The Print Quality tab might also be present. You should select whichever you are able to locate among these
  6. Choose the Draft after which you are supposed to select the checkbox for Always print with current settings.
  7. Select OK.

Another possible solution is to disable the automatic duplexing. This, as explained before, stands for the ability to print on both sides of the paper. To do this, follow these steps.

  1. Open up Properties once again.
  2. Go to Device settings.
  3. You should be able to see the checkbox for Allow Manual Duplexing.
  4. Uncheck it and select OK.

One last solution we’ve got is to remove all other printers connected to the computer and change the USB port. This disconnect of other printers potentially increases the speed with which your printer works. Simply switching the USB ports also helps occasionally.

  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Select Devices and Printers
  3. Choose your default printer.
  4. Remove all the remaining printers.
  5. Go to Properties yet again and check whether the correct port is being used.
  6. If the wrong port is being used, change it to the correct port

These are some ways to get around the slow print issue many users have been complaining about with their PIXMA E560 printer.
