One of the common problems faced by Outlook 365 users is the growing PST file size. Many wouldn’t have noticed it until their Outlook 365 takes longer to load emails, freezes too often and eventually crashes to desktop. PST (Personal Storage Table) is an important Outlook data file that contains your personal information. It consists of your contacts, email folders (inbox, draft, sent and trash), tasks, notes, calendar and other data. A PST file can be as large as 2 GB in size. Method 1: Restart the Application
If your Microsoft Outlook 365 isn’t working correctly, there may be a temporary technical glitch. Try closing the application and re-opening it again. It should fix the problem.
Method 2: Manually Repair Outlook 365 Installation
Has your problem been fixed yet? If not, try repairing the Microsoft Office 365 installation. Sometimes, the repair option is not available when the local installation cache is not created during the installation. In such cases, simply uninstall and reinstall the Office. The steps are as follows:
Important: Backup your Outlook Profile
Outlook repair or reinstall procedure could delete your precious emails, attachments, contacts, calendar data, etc stored on your hard disk. You must first backup them, if you ever need to restore them after repair.
- Click on ‘File’.
- Click on ‘Open & Export’, followed by ‘Import/ Export’.
- Select ‘Export to a file’, and then click ‘Next’.
- Choose the ‘Outlook Data File (.pst)’ format and click on ‘Next’.
- Select the topmost ‘Inbox’ folder in your Mail folder to backup. Alternatively, you can select a sub-folder in your Inbox to backup.
- Choose where you want to store your backup.
- Click on ‘Finish’.
Diagnostic Steps
- Click on ‘Start’.
- Click on the ‘Settings’ icon.
- Select ‘Apps’.
- Wait for a moment. Windows will load your installed applications list.
- Select Microsoft Office 365, and then click on ‘Repair’.
- If the ‘Repair’ option is not found, click on ‘Uninstall’ and follow the on-screen instructions. After successfully uninstalling Office, restart your computer and download-install Microsoft Outlook 365 afresh.

Steps
