Reinstall .NET Framework

Check the version of Microsoft .NET Framework installed on your system. If you’ve existing version which is outdated, download an update from Microsoft Download Center.

 

Set Default 3D Settings

Restore all the default configurations for your NVIDIA Graphics Card. In the Nvidia Control Panel open your 3D Settings. To do so, right-click on an empty area of your Desktop; choose Nvidia Control Panel. In the new window that opens, click Manage 3D Settings. Set all default configurations by clicking “Restore defaults” button.

As in case of AMD Catalyst Display Driver, open the Catalyst Control Center, also called Vision Center, in the same manner. Choose to display Preferences dialog and then restore all the factory defaults.

 

Fix Game Components

If you’re encountering graphics card issues while playing League of Legends, fix the corrupted game components by clicking the ? and then the Repair button. The process may take around half an hour to restore original versions of the files.

 

Use Selective Startup

Run your computer in selective startup mode. This turns off conflicting processes that cause your graphics card stop responding. To do so, choose “Selective startup” option in the General tab of System Configuration utility.

 

Do Not Override Graphics Card Settings with LoL

If your graphics card stops responding suddenly while playing League of Legends game, perhaps it interferes with the game components. Open up Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Catalyst Control Center, whichever you use, alter the graphics profile settings. Disable overriding your graphics settings.

 

Lower In-Game Settings

Lower your in-game video settings in order to reduce different graphical effects. You can find a sweet spot between graphics quality and performance, preventing your graphics card from stopping unexpectedly. To open up the video settings during gameplay, press Esc | Video. Set the custom settings with below parameters:

  • Lower these features: Character Quality, Environment Quality, Effects Quality
  • Settings to Uncheck: Wait for Vertical Sync, Anti-Aliasing
  • Feature to Disable: Shadows
  • Frame Rate Cap: 60 FPS
  • Screen Resolution: <Set same resolution matching your desktop resolution

 

Change Interface Settings

Reduce the amount of stress on your computer’s hardware devices by correctly disabling unwanted interface features. Go to the Interface Options page and then disable following features:

  • Features to Disable: HUD Animations, Target Frame on Attack, Line Missile Display, Attack Range

 

Turn Off Debug Version of DirectX

Use the Search Box of your Start Screen to open the 32 bit version of Microsoft DirectX Control Panel. The debug build causes conflicts with League of Legends game. To turn off the debug version, use the retail version of Direct3D Version 9 from the tab named Direct3D 9.
