Perform Clean Boot
Booting your laptop/ computer without any third-party startup items ensures no conflicting DLL files are loaded. DLLs are shared components located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder, and are shared between different applications installed on your Windows operating system. Different applications might attempt to use a shared DLL file simultaneously and this will result in conflicts between them. By performing clean boot you, you remove the probability of any such conflicts taking place as you choose to simply stop all third-party startup programs as well as Non-Microsoft services. This shall ensure that the ISDone.dll error won’t appear again.
- Open the Start Screen; type “System Configuration” in the Search Box; and press ENTER to open the System Configuration tool.
- Make sure you’re on the General tab.
- Choose the option named “Diagnostic startup”, and then click Apply | OK.
Re-register the Corresponding File
Possibly, ISDone.dll entries in the Registry might be corrupted. Hence, GTA 4 would be failing in its attempt to retrieve the required information from the Registry. Open Command Prompt tool (Start > CMD), and execute these commands separately:
- regsvr32 -u ISDone.dll
- Regsvr32 ISDone.dll
- Exit
- Shutdown /r
Use the DISM
DISM is an abbreviation for Deployment Image Servicing Management. Here are the commands you have to execute through elevated Command Prompt in order to make good use of DISM:
- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Close and start again now.
Copy the Missing File
Download a copy of ISDone.dll from a reliable source. Scan the downloaded zip file and extract it’s contents to a temporary folder. Finally, Paste ISDone.dll to the following folders:
- C:\Windows\System32\
- C:\Windows\SysWOW64\
