DISM Error 0x80f001f. Windows 10

0x80f001f error appears due to a corrupt system image. DISM tool can easily fix a corrupt system image, besides the many other handy tasks it can perform. It’s command-lines replace image components with source files from Windows installation media.

 

Restore Missing Files

DISM stands for Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool. It was known as Package Manager and ImageX in previous versions of Windows. Its offline servicing feature can fix issues pertaining to the system image and resultantly aid in fixing Windows 10 error code 0x80f001f.

  1. Insert Windows 10 operating system installation disc in the DVD ROM drive.
  2. Press Windows Key + X; choose Search.
  3. Type PowerShell in the Search box and then open Windows PowerShell.
  4. Enter the following commands (one at a time) after making appropriate modifications:
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

Note: Replace X: with the drive letter of your Windows 10 installation media.

 

Use SFC Tool

Windows may not function as desired and show the DISM Error 0x80f001f whenever system files are corrupted, missing or deleted. System File Checker scans operating system components for corruption. It also looks for any problems with Windows Resource Protection files.

  1. Type CMD in the Search Box of your Taskbar.
  2. Right-click it from Search Results and choose Run as administrator.
  3. Execute this command:
  • SFC /ScanNow

 

Restore the System

System Restore feature reverts computer settings to an earlier period of time when everything worked picture perfect. It includes important operating system components, installed programs, Registry and user profile settings.

  1. Type Restore in the Search Box of the Taskbar.
  2. Open Create a restore point from the Search Results.
  3. Click the System Restore button under System Protection tab of the newly opened System Properties dialog.
  4. Click the Next button.
  5. Select a restore point, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
