The error is reported while establishing a network connection on a broadband. Here are steps to fix it:

Unplug & Replug Router

Close your browser. Unplug and replug the Internet router after waiting for around 3-6 minutes. If you’re using Local Area Network, unplug and replug the wires.

 

Restore Default TCP/ IP Settings

First, you need an elevated Command Prompt. Then run the command given below:

  • Netsh in tip reset reset.log

Followed by this command, restart your computer and it should fix the error.

 

Establish a Dial-Up Connection

To fix the issue re-establish a dial-up connection from the Adapter Settings in the Network and Sharing Center of the Control Panel. There is an option to create a copy of your connection – whether dial-up/ broadband – in the context menu.

 

Turn off Auto Tuning

It may be possible that you get the error because of an incompatible auto-tuning feature.

Disable it by executing this command:

  • Netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled

 

Turn Off IPv6

Disable the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) from Network and Sharing Center page under Network & Internet. After choosing the active network connection, open up the Properties dialog for additional options. Uncheck the “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/ IPv6)” checkbox under Networking tab.

 

Uninstall & Reinstall the Network Adapter

Use the command “Devmgmt.msc” in Run dialog to open Device Manager consisting of all devices list. You can go through uninstall process from Driver tab in the Driver Properties dialog box. Later when you restart PC, check whether it automatically installs. If not, right-click the top node in Device Manager and select “Scan for hardware changes” option.
