Try solution steps mentioned below to fix Windows error 1114.
Change Diagnostic Policy Service Properties
Look for this service using Services Management tool in Windows. Make sure the service is not set to startup manually.
For Windows 8.1/ 8/ 7/ Vista
- Press Windows Key + R keys simultaneously.
- Type “services.msc”, press ENTER.
- In the new window that opens, locate a service named Diagnostic Policy Service.
- Right-click that service and select Properties.
- Set Automatic startup type, click Apply | OK.
- Restart your PC for the changes to take effects.
Scan your System Using SFC
During the scanning process, you’ll be prompted to insert Windows installation disc in order to restore copies of corrupted system files.
For Windows 8.1/ 8
- Press Windows Key + C to open up Charms Bar.
- Click Search icon.
- In the Start Screen that appears, type “Command Prompt” in Search Box.,
- Click Apps icon.
- Now that you’ve search results on your screen. Right-click Command Prompt.
- Click Run as administrator icon at the bottom area of your Start Screen.
- Type following command; press ENTER.
- sfc /scannow
- After completion of this process, restart your computer.
For Windows 7/ Vista
- Click Start, type “CMD” in Search Box.
- In the Search Result, right-click Command Prompt, select Run as administrator.
- Refer Steps # 7-8 under Windows 8.1/ 8 user’s section.
Restore the System
If none of these procedures work, restore your machine to an earlier date.
For Windows 8.1/ 8
- Right-click Computer desktop icon, select Properties.
- Click Advanced system settings | System Restore tab.
- Click System Restore button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
For Windows 7/ Vista
- Click Start, point to All Programs | Accessories | System Tools.
- Click System Restore.
Re-register MSXML.DLL File
As you know each DLL file has Registry references, you receive Error 7 Windows Error 1114 whenever DLL Registry references are corrupted.
For Windows 8.1/ 8
- Open Command Prompt (Refer Steps # 1-6 under the Scan your system using SFC section).
- Execute the following commands:
- regsvr32 -u MSXML.DLL
- regsvr32 MSXML.DLL
- EXIT
- Restart your computer to successfully finish the operation.
