Disable Google Drive Plug-In
You have Google Drive plug-in installed in Google Chrome browser. The plug-in enables access to your cloud documents, files and easy sharing. You’re experiencing frequent crashes as the plug-in is not functioning well. By disabling the plug-in from the Extensions page, you can fix this issue. Type “chrome://extensions/” in your Address Bar to go to that page. You’ll be having options to disable and remove the plug-in.
Although this is not a permanent solution to this problem but you can wait till browser updates are installed and bugs are fixed. Until then you would have to use the online drive application to access your documents.
Reinstall Google Drive Software
Google Drive application lets you navigate your documents and files throughout its Desktop application without using the browser. Google Drive is crashing Chrome because the application files are incompletely installed. Repair the installation using the setup program or from Programs > Programs and Features in the Control Panel.
Identify Conflicting Drive Modules
Some modules that are part of Google Chrome and installed by Google Drive application aren’t functioning properly. Identify and remove those modules using “chrome://conflicts/” command in the Address Bar.
Get Detailed Diagnostic Info
With “chrome://crashes” command in the Location URL Bar you can get detailed information about the recent browser crashes that might be helpful to diagnose.
Repair Shared Files
Google Chrome DLL files are commonly shared with other applications. Scan and repair these files using System File Checker, a tool that can be initiated using “SFC /ScanNow” command in the Control Panel with sufficient administrative privileges.
