Windows reserves 20% of the bandwidth of the local system for Windows updates and internal consumption. Releasing the whole bandwidth to the user can increase the bandwidth by 20%. This might not be significant for those who have a high bandwidth, but it can be quite useful as every bit is important if Internet connections are already slow in your area.
- Type the gpedit.msc in the Search bar in the start menu.
- Find the gpedit.msc application in the search result.
- Click on it to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
- Double click on the “Computer Configuration” in the right side panel OR Single click in the left side panel.
- Double click on the “Administrative Template” in the right side panel OR Single click in the left side panel.
- Double click on the “Network” in the right side panel OR Single click in the left side panel.
- Double click on the “QoS Packet Scheduler” in the right side panel OR Single click in the left side panel.
- Double click on the “Limit Reservable Bandwidth” in the right side panel.
- Double-clicking on the above selection can open a separate dialog box.
- Select Enabled and enter 0 as the value in the Bandwidth limit. Click the OK button to apply the changes.
Solution 2
Windows 10 has a new feature which helps to keep the OS and apps up-to-date. Disabling this option can save and increase the bandwidth if it’s constantly being used.
- Click on the Start button to open the Start Menu.
- Click on the Settings option in the Start Menu.
- When Windows Settings Window is opened, Find Update and security option and click on it to open.
- In Windows Updates, click on Advanced options.
- Click on How updates are delivered.
- Turn off the option by sliding the node to the left side.
Solution 3
- Scan the whole system for malware and viruses. Sometimes malware can hijack system files or service files to corrupt.
- Download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
- Run Scan and eliminate all malware issues that are detected.
