Microsoft Office shows error 22 during the process of installation.
Restart Installation
Exit the Microsoft Office installation wizard and re-run it again as administrator.
Restart your PC
A temporary glitch may cause errors. Exit the installation, shutdown and restart your PC to check if this fixes your problem.
Run as Administrator
Execute the setup wizard as administrator by right-clicking it, selecting that option. In an alternate way, you can configure it to automatically run as administrator from the Compatibility tab in the Shortcut Properties dialog box.
Check Compatibility Issues
The version of Microsoft Office you’re trying to install may be designed for a different version of Windows. There can be compatibility issues with system type. Example: You’re trying to install a 64-bit version on a 32 bit Windows operating system. Please contact the vendor for a compatible package. You can try compatibility troubleshooter by typing Run programs made for previous versions of Windows into the Search.
Temporarily Turn Off Firewall
Disable your Windows Firewall protection prior to Microsoft Office installation. Use the keyword Check Firewall Status into the Search feature; or access Windows Firewall under System and Security category.
Disable Antivirus
Stop your Antivirus protection temporarily using system tray icons at the extreme right side of the Taskbar.
Delete Registry Entries
Delete below Registry subkey before initiating the setup bootstrapper. Some of the information stored in the subkey is corrupted.
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office
IMPORTANT: Before making any changes to the Registry, please backup it by choosing Export option from right-click options menu. You can also find that option in the File menu.
