Windows 10 has been Microsoft’s latest masterpiece and it continues to wow users to no end.
However, it also contains its fair share of bugs and has multiple issues that impact the user experience. One such issue with Windows 10 is Netflix runs slow both in the browser as well as in the app. This issue has been giving a headache to users in every nook and corner of the world. Here are a few steps you can take to increase Netflix’s speed.
If you need a quick speed recovery for Netflix, try cleaning system junk, cleaning browser junk using a Cleaner utility:
Step 1. Check For Windows Updates

-
- Open start menu and search for Windows Update.
-
- Open Windows Update and click on Check for updates.
- If an update is available, download and install it.
If this step doesn’t work out, move on to the next one.
Step 2. Perform A Reinstall
If you’re using the Netflix app then something might be wrong with the app itself which is causing Netflix the slow issue. You need to reinstall the Netflix app by uninstalling it and then reinstalling from Windows Store.

Step 3. Update Graphics Drivers
One of the biggest reasons for Netflix running slow on Windows 10 or Netflix not performing properly on Windows 10 is outdated Graphics drivers. Visit your card manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver and install it. Additionally, if you already have the latest drivers installed, download the older versions of the drivers as the newer version might be causing the Netflix slowdown issue.
Step 4. Adjust Time Zone And Region Settings
If you’re using a time zone or have your system set to a different region than your actual location then this might be the reason behind the conflict with Netflix app and it’s site.
-
- Open Settings, and click on the Time & language icon.
-
- Click on Date & time, and turn off Set time zone automatically on the right.
- Select the time zone you want to use in the drop-down menu on the right.
Step 5. Disable Bandwidth Consuming Extensions
Always check your browser for any apps that are consuming a high amount of bandwidth and causing the Internet to slow down, that results in slow Netflix speed. Make sure neither any app or any Windows Updates are being downloaded in the background. Also, disable any extensions that are eating up too much bandwidth.
Step 6. Flush DNS
Your computer saves IP addresses in its cache and joins hands with the DNS that results in a faster data transfer from the hostname. Any DNS misconfiguration can cause the lean time to decrease quite a bit.
-
- Click start and type CMD.
-
- Right-click the Search Result and select Run as administrator.
-
- Execute the following command: ipconfig /flushdns.
- Now exit and restart your PC.
Step 7. Reduce Video Quality
If all these methods have failed, then the Internet speed might be too slow. Consider decreasing the video quality for an improvement in your streaming experience.
-
- Log into your Netflix account.
-
- Click Your Account | Manage video quality.
- Reduce the video quality until videos start streaming normally.
