PC Beeps Randomly in Windows 10

Random beeping noises in Windows 10 is not something that you can choose to ignore.

Even seemingly random beeps have a purpose but strangely enough, each beep has a different meaning on different motherboards as various manufacturers such as Dell or ASUS allot different kinds of beeps to the same error. If the beeping only occurs at random intervals without having an actual impact on your computer in any way, follow these steps to fix random beeps in Windows 10.

Run the System Maintenance troubleshooter

If you aren’t sure what’s causing the beeping noises in Windows 10 then running the maintenance trouble shooter is highly recommended. The beeps might be due to an outdated driver or something being wrong with the HDD or RAM.

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Type in Troubleshooting in the Search Control Panel area on the top-right and then select Troubleshooting from the results.
  3. Click on View All and then select System Maintenance.
  4. Now run the Troubleshooter.
  5. Once the troubleshooting is over, restart the computer and hopefully the beeping sound should be done away for good.

Run the DISM Tool

Running the DISM tool is the best way to stop random beeps. It checks the health of the operating system, looks for errors as well as scans for any missing files. It also goes on to restore corrupt or missing files so that the computer stays healthy.

  1. Click on the Start button and search for cmd.
  2. Right-click Command Prompt from the search results and select Run as administrator.
  3. In the Command Prompt window, type the following commands one by one and press Enter to execute them:

    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  4. The resulting process might take upto 20–30 (or more) minutes depending on the specs of your system.
