It is often that users end up accidentally deleting important data. Similar to Android, iOS allows users to automatically back up their data. The sync process takes place as soon as your Apple device is connected to the PC. Users sometimes find it a bit difficult to locate the backup folder created by iTunes.

iTunes Backup for Windows
Locating the iTunes backup folder on Windows is quite easy. Just follow the steps mentioned below.
Method 1
First up we will follow the ages-old routine of making our way to the required location via the File Explorer. This should be easy, but first, we should make sure any hidden files are also being shown.
- Launch Control Panel and then hit the Appearance and Personalization category.
- Look for Show hidden files and folders (File Explorer Options) and click it.
- Now select the radio box for Show hidden files, folders, and drives in the new window that just opened up.
- Click OK to save the changes.
- Exit Control Panel and click This PC.
- Click the Windows drive (usually C) and then the Users folder.
- Next, click the folder with your Windows user name.
- Now open up the AppData folder.
- Select Roaming > Apple Computer > Mobile Sync > Backup (this is the iTunes backup folder).
Method 2
Another method of locating the iTunes backup folder on Windows requires using the search bar located in the bottom panel.
- Type %userprofile% in the search bar and hit Enter.
- Now open these folders: Apple > MobileSync > Backup.
Note: If you can’t find the Backup folder, it must be hidden. Therefore, you will need to enable the Show hidden items option. Please refer to steps # 1-4 of Method 1.
iTunes Backup for Mac
Method 1
Locating the iTunes backup folder on a Mac is slightly different. While holding the Option key, visit the Go menu located in the top panel. Now hold down the Option key and you will see a hidden folder named Library.
Open the Library folder and locate the Application Support folder. Now head over to the MobileSync folder. Finally, you will end up at the Backup folder.
Method 2
- Visit the Go section on your Mac and select the Go to Folder option.
- Now type in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ and click Go.
- The command will directly take you to the location where your backup folder is located.
Method 3
You can also use iTunes to search for a specific backup.
- Open up iTunes and navigate to the Preferences section.
- Now click the Devices tab and you will be shown a list of the backups of your device or devices.
- Select the backup you want to locate and hit the Command key while pressing the mouse click.
- Select the Show in Finder option to have the backup data displayed.
